Week's Achievements: Senior first baseman/designated player Morgan Geno (Chillicothe, Ohio) helped the Ohio softball team (4-1) open the 2019 season with four victories in five games at the Phyllis Rafter Memorial Tournament in Kennesaw, Ga., last weekend. Geno led the team in batting average (.563), on-base percentage (.650), slugging percentage (.813) and RBIs (7) and ranked second on the squad with nine hits -- including a double and a home run. Geno helped Ohio give Kenzie Roark her first victory as head coach of the Bobcats on Friday (Feb. 8), going 1-for-2 with two walks and a run scored in a 9-8 triumph over Eastern Illinois in the season opener. Later that day, she went 2-for-4 with three RBIs against Chattanooga. On Saturday (Feb. 9), she helped Ohio beat Morehead State, 6-1, with a 2-for-3 effort that saw her hit her first home run of the year, tally two RBIs and draw a walk, then went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in a 7-2 win over host Kennesaw State. Geno helped the Bobcats close out the weekend with a 4-1 win over Eastern Illinois on Sunday (Feb. 10), going 2-for-3 with an RBI.
