You are receiving this notice to inform you of changes to the Ohio Bobcat Club and how your donations will be recognized.

For example, if you gave $600 on September 1, 2010, your giving level for 2011-2012 (July 1 - June 30) will be at the Captain ($600-$1,199) Level. When renewing, should you choose to give $400 on September 1, 2011, your giving level would drop on July 1 of the following year. If you choose to give $1,200 on September 1, 2011, your giving level would instantly increase to the All-Conference Level ($1,200-$1,799).

What does this mean for you? If you simply make your annual donation around the same time every year, you will never have an interruption of benefits. If you have not made a donation to the Ohio Bobcat Club since July 1, 2010, you will need to make one before June 30, 2011 to qualify for Ohio Bobcat Club benefits in the 2011-2012 year (2011 Football and 2011-2012 Men's Basketball).

REMEMBER: If you make your donation to the Ohio Bobcat Club around the same time each year, your status will always be current. If you increase your gift during the year, your benefit level will instantly increase. To maintain your Ohio Bobcat Club status each year, you must give annually between July 1 and June 30.

The financial future and success of Ohio Athletics in the long term will greatly depend on the efforts of Ohio University Alumni, Fans, and Friends. Specifically, Ohio University must have the financial support from these groups to continue to maintain a successful athletics program. Why are these changes being made? The Ohio Bobcat Club is going to a more traditional and effective year-round giving calendar. This means that you will be able to make your donation at any time of the year, whenever it is most convenient for you. This change will also align us with the Ohio University fiscal calendar, making it easier for us to accurately budget for each year's expenses.

How does this affect my tickets or parking for Football and Men's Basketball? If your football or men's basketball season tickets and parking require a membership in the Ohio Bobcat Club, make sure that you have made your donation towards those seats during the previous year (before July 1). The easiest way to make sure you are a current donor for your seats is to make your donation each year when you receive your season ticket renewal. If you do not remain a current Ohio Bobcat Club member at the necessary level for your tickets, you will lose your seats.

Should I wait until July 1, 2011 to make my donation this year? Not necessarily. Given our new structure, it may be beneficial for you to make your gift BEFORE July 1, 2011 so you will be eligible for 2011-2012 benefits. The right "time" of year for you to make your gift is up to you, but it will be important to make your gift at that time each year to remain a current donor. If you made your donation last year between April - June, you should do the same this year.

What time during the year should I make my gift? The simple answer is: the same time each year. Whether you normally give in May, October, or March, you will receive benefits at your level for the following year provided you continue to make your donation each year at the same time.

What if I want to increase my giving level during the current year? At any point during the current year you can increase your giving level by surpassing your gift total from the previous year. At the time your increase is made, you will begin to receive benefits of the new giving level.

How do I know what level I am at? You can check the Ohio Bobcat Club website at www.ohiobobcats.com/bobcatclub/club-members.html for an updated donor listing. This list will be reset each July 1 to reflect the year's giving levels. If you increase your level you will instantly be eligible for benefits of your new level.

How this can be better for you: This new giving calendar allows more flexibility when determining the time of year to make your donation. Monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly payments to your Ohio Bobcat Club membership will now be an option.
