2017-2018 Ohio Cheerleading Tryout Info

Tryouts will take place on May 5th & 6th, 2017

Registration will begin on Friday, May 5th at 5:30pm. You will need to have the following paperwork; a copy of your insurance card, a copy of your acceptance letter to Ohio University, a physical form that was performed by a physician within the past 6 months (NCAA rule) and you are required to sign an assumption of risk waiver/release form. If you are not 18, a parent and/or guardian will need to sign the form. Paperwork will be kept by the University, so please make sure you bring copies of your information and not the original forms (acceptance letter and insurance card)

Tryout Clinic Times:

Friday, May 5th
5:30pm: Registration
6:00-9:00pm: Clinic

Saturday, May 6th
8:30-11:30am: Clinic
12:30pm: Warm-ups
1:00pm: Tryouts

Tryout Content: (Tryouts are for the Ohio University co-ed cheer team)

Flyers-minimum: Back Tuck, Back Handspring Back Tuck, Round-off Back Tuck (you will demonstrate the minimum tumbling skills in order to participate in tryout clinics)

Bases-Prefer tumbling skills, but not required

*we are a traditional co-ed team, female/flyers and male/bases

Stunting is co-ed and will consist of the performance of your two best stunts. Difficulty and execution are built into the score, so you want to do your most difficult stunts that you can execute cleanly

Cheer & Dance
A Dance and Cheer will be taught at clinics

Ohio Colors
Females-Cheer shorts (no spandex underneath) form fitting shirts, hair pulled back, cheer shoes *please no lotion

Males-Athletic shorts, t-shirt, and athletic shoes
