ATHENS, OHIO-Ohio Athletics and Holzer Clinic announced a $1,000,000 partnership Thursday afternoon in the Convocation Center.

Holzer will sign a $200,000 per year contract for five years with Ohio. $50,000 of that amount will go directly to the Ohio Athletics Operational Endowment Campaign, which was kick-started last January by the generosity of Dr. Vern Alden, president of Ohio University from 1962-1969.

"We are extremely excited to announce this sponsorship agreement with Holzer Clinic," said Ohio Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt. "Holzer Clinic's tremendous commitment to Ohio Athletics will assist this department in providing a quality experience to all Ohio student-athletes."

In addition to this new partnership, Holzer Clinic maintains their commitment to provide scholarships to the Ohio University College of Medicine and fund numerous community and school enhancement projects.

"We are dedicated to doing our part to ensure the long-term stability of Ohio Athletics as we realize the value of the athletics program in the community and to the economic success of the area," said T. Wayne Munro, President of Holzer Clinic. "Athletics not only strengthen the well-being of the participants involved but also provides a long-lasting connection to the community."

The Holzer Clinic Foundation Scholarship, established in 2007, is a 6 year commitment of $4,000/year to 3rd & 4th year medical students. Holzer Clinic Physicians provide regular lectures 4-5 times per month to those 3rd and 4th year students. Additionally, we provide early clinical contact experiences and month long medical student rotation.
