ATHENS, Ohio - Stretch Internet, Ohio Athletics streaming partner, is conducting a broadcasting "Call of the Year" competition, and you can help the "Voice of the Bobcats" win.
Russ Eisenstein's play-by-play of that action is up for Stretch's "Call of the Year.
The final moments of men's basketball's home win over Kent State were thrilling. Stevie Taylor hit a three with ten seconds left, the Bobcats then stripped the Golden Flashes, added a layup and KSU's three to tie was short. Ohio won 78-75.
"It was a great moment of the season," Eisenstein said. "I'm proud of the call, I hope fans could picture the action as I called it, and I hope they take the time to vote. There are a lot of great broadcasters out there, and there have been a lot of great calls this year. Winning this contest would be another piece of good recognition for Ohio Athletics and Ohio University. Thanks for voting, fans!"
Click on the Facebook link at the top of the story to listen to the call, then click "Love It" to help send Eisentein to the next round of voting. The 10 calls advance to the next round, and fan votes will be narrow that group down to the top five.
Stretch Internet will choose the top call from those five, and will announce the winner at the 2013 CoSIDA/NACDA 2013 convention. Fans can vote once per day. This round of voting concludes on May 30th.
