ATHENS, Ohio - The numbers are in and fiscal year 2014 was one for the record books for the Ohio Bobcat Club. From July 1, 2013 - June 30, 2014 Bobcat supporters helped set a new giving mark for the Ohio Bobcat Club Annual Fund.
During this time 1,380 donors gave $747,053.18, which is a 28 percent increase from last year. It was a 49 percent increase over the giving year from 2011-12.
"On behalf of my staff I would like to thank the donors for making a difference in the lives of our student-athletes," said Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development Ryan White. "The generosity shown by Ohio Bobcat Club members over the past year was tremendous. It's important that we continue to grow our annual fund each year to remain competitive in the conference and nationally."
A new initiative was launched during the 2013-14 year, which helped in breaking the new fundraising mark. The Ohio Bobcat Club asked its current membership to join in on the 110 percent and "All-In" challenge.
Through this initiative 163 donors went All-In and increased their membership by at least one level, while another 297 members upped their giving by 10 percent.
The Ohio Bobcat Club is the official fundraising organization of Ohio Athletics providing academic and operational resources to over 420 student-athletes. In addition, the support provided by the Ohio Bobcat Club fosters long-term growth and success of Ohio Athletics through the construction of athletics facilities.
