ATHENS, Ohio-Ohio senior captain Kristine Mayle was named Sports Illustrated “On Campus” Cheerleader of the Week Thursday.

The Rayland, Ohio native was featured on SI.com with a photo gallery and a question and answer session. She is majoring in chemical engineering.

“Kristine is a stellar student, while balancing classwork, cheerleading and other cheer captain responsibilities,” said Ohio cheerleading coach Tricia Perry. “She is a highly talented and skilled cheerleader who is an asset to the team athletically and as a role model.”

Mayle and the rest of the Bobcat cheerleading squad will be in action Saturday as the Ohio football team takes on Northwestern at 12 p.m. Eastern (11 a.m. Central).
