Athletics Lends a Hand in Canned Food Drive

ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio Athletics lent a significant hand in the recent campus-wide Canned Food Drive hosted by the Exercise Physiology Club. Bobcat teams made a big impact on the charity drive, donating 31 percent of the overall total.

Throughout the entire Ohio University campus, total donations amounted to 12,705 items. Ohio's Swimming and Diving team led the way for the entire university, donating 1,310 items. Ohio Field Hockey also did a fantastic job, earning the title of No. 2 organization on campus with 630 items donated.

The Bobcat teams which donated the most canned goods are as follows:
1) Swimming and Diving: 1,310
2) Field Hockey: 630
3) Women's Cross Country: 456
4) Ohio Cheerleading: 451
5) Men's Cross Country: 432
6) Baseball: 291
7) Volleyball: 178
8) Soccer: 154
9) Women's Basketball: 79
