Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Sales

An Ohio University alumnus and Athens native, Drake Bolon serves as Ohio's Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Sales. Bolon oversees all marketing, ticket sales and advertising efforts for the Bobcats' 16 varsity sports.

In 2011, Bolon led the creation of the Ohio Ticket Sales Team. Under his direction, the sales team has generated the highest season ticket sales and revenue in Ohio Football and Ohio Men's Basketball history for two consecutive seasons. His team has also set Mid-American Conference revenue records in back-to-back years (2012-2013, 2013-2014). Starting with a three person team in 2012, the sales team is now a seven member operation that is among the largest and most respected in the country.

He has also been the driving force behind Ohio's advertising and branding campaigns. Bolon developed "Best Fans in the MAC" and "My State. My Team." as Ohio's highly recognizable brands. A proponent of organic advertising, he started the Bobcat Marquee and Flag Programs as a way to efficiently advertise Ohio Athletics throughout the region year-round.

Bolon joined the department after serving as Marketing and Ticketing Director at Robert Morris University. In his time with the Colonials, he reorganized the department's advertising and sales strategy, while also creating an inside sales team comprised of graduate and undergraduate students. His strategies led to record season ticket sales and revenue for football, men's basketball and men's ice hockey. Bolon's time at Robert Morris also included the all-time record crowds for football and men's ice hockey.

Bolon is no stranger to Ohio Athletics. As a student, he spent much of his collegiate career working the Bobcats' marketing office where he developed advertising and sales strategies for swimming and diving, field hockey, wrestling, baseball and softball.

Growing up in Athens, Bolon developed a love for Ohio Athletics from an early age and is intent on taking the Bobcats' fanbase to the next level. He is a graduate of Ohio University's College of Business and earned his MBA from Robert Morris University.
