Athletic Training Graduate Assistant

Cara Rapoport enters her second year as an athletic training graduate assistant for the Ohio University field hockey team.

Rapoport serves as the athletic trainer for the team year round while attending all practices and matches. She also assists in appointments with the University's sports medicine doctor.

While in Athens, Rapoport is pursuing her master's degree in athletic training. As an Ohio University research assistant, she is developing a research study along with Dr. Jeff Russell to determine if classical ballet en pointe adversely affects the Achilles' tendon using musculoskeletal ultrasonography.

Rapoport graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2012 with a degree in athletic training.

While in Durham, she served as an athletic training student assistant for the women's gymnastics, men's football and women's lacrosse. She also assisted with athletic training duties at Dick Umile Men's Hockey Camp and was a teaching assistant for a Therapeutic Exercise Lab and a Concepts of Athletic Training Lab. She also worked with the New England HockeyMates, independently monitoring field hockey clinics at UNH's Whittemore Center.

Rapoport is a native of Bridgewater, N.J.
