Erik Hildebrand will begin his third year at Ohio University this fall as the department's Director of Compliance.

In his current capacity, Hildebrand serves as a liaison between the NCAA/Mid-American Conference and the University's coaches to ensure each of the department's 16 varsity sports and staff members are operating within the guidelines set forth by the NCAA.

In addition, Hildebrand oversees National Letters of Intent and NCAA waivers to ensure each of its student-athletes are eligible for competition.

Hildebrand arrived in Athens in the fall of 2011 after he spent four years as a Compliance Officer at Gonzaga University.

Prior to Gonzaga, Hildebrand worked in guest services for the Cleveland Indians, of Major League Baseball, for the 2006 campaign and was a student intern for the office of Student Athlete Services from 2003-2005 at Bowling Green State University.

Hildebrand, a native of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, graduated from Bowling Green with a bachelor's degree in sport management in 2005 and earned a master's degree in sport administration from Gonzaga in 2008.

He currently resides in Athens.
