Fisher and Sabo added to multi-media staff; Blakely welcomed to marketing staff
Evan Shaw joined the Ohio staff as the Director of Multi-Media Marketing in August of 2008 and was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director of Multi-Media Marketing in the summer of 2011.
Shaw oversees all video production efforts for the Ohio Bobcats, from in-house productions for BobcatTV, housed on Ohio's website www.OhioBobcats.com to the creation of television advertisements for the regional and national market.
In 2011, Shaw created the half-hour show "RELENTLESS: An Inside Look At Ohio Football." The show, which airs in the Athens area on WOUB, was also picked up by television stations across Ohio and nominated for two Emmy's. The show is now in its second season.
In the winter of 2012, Shaw created another half-hour show entitled "All In: An Inside Look At Ohio Basketball".
Shaw is also responsible for the production and oversight of videos appearing on the video boards at Peden Stadium and the Convocation Center, including closed circuit television for OHIO's home football games.
For his work at Ohio, Shaw has been honored externally with three regional Emmy wins. Shaw has won top honors in different categories at the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Annual Ohio Valley Regional Emmy Awards ceremony in each of the last three years: Sports Editing (2011), Sports Feature (2010), Sports Videography (2009). Shaw has been nominated for a total of four regional Emmys for his work with OHIO Athletics.
As a student at Ohio, he won an Emmy for his work as Director on WOUB's "Gridiron Glory," a program covering high school football in Southeastern Ohio. He has been nominated four times for a National Sports Emmy for work as part of a team with NFL Films. Shaw is also the winner of two Telly Awards for his exceptional work with OHIO Athletics and placed third in NACMA's (National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators) contest for Best Video Board segment for his work on the intro video that was featured prior to Ohio's men's basketball showdown versus arch-rival Miami on Feb. 24, 2010.
He began shooting football as an undergraduate for WOUB in Athens. His career in sports television has taken him from the football fields of rural Southeastern Ohio all the way to Super Bowl Sunday. In addition to his duties with Ohio, Shaw also patrols the sidelines of professional games every week for NFL Films as a ground cinematographer.
Shaw's work for Ohio can be seen on BobcatTV, Ohio Athletics' official free video platform. His work for the NFL can be seen on major national networks such as ESPN, Showtime and NBC.
Shaw is a 2007 graduate of Ohio's College of Communication. A Meigs County native, he is a graduate of Meigs High School, where he lettered in football and was honored as a Distinguished Alumni in the Fall of 2010.
