Dan Hauser is in his seventh year at Ohio University, where he serves as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Operations. In his current capacity, Hauser oversees marketing and promotions, ticket operations, media relations, and the Ohio Bobcat Sports Network (video & radio).
In addition, he serves as the athletic department liaison for IMG College, Licensing Resource Group, and AVI Concessions. Hauser serves as the sport administrator for women's soccer, women's swimming and diving, post season administrator for football & basketball, and coordinates football scheduling.
In his seven years with Ohio, the athletic department has experienced unprecedented growth in ticket sales, attendance, sponsorship sales, merchandising, and revenue generation.
- Increased football season ticket sales 68%.
- Increased men's basketball season ticket sales 119%.
- Negotiated IMG College sponsorship contract generating $6.5 million guarantee (148% increase).
- Negotiated AVI concessions contract creating a 317% increase in annual revenue.
- Created Bobcat Student Park generating over $100,000 in new corporate sponsorship revenue and a 163% increase in student football attendance.
- Created Ohio Ticket Sales team partnership with Legends Sales & Marketing (New York Yankees/Dallas Cowboys) generating a 936 percent revenue return on investment.
- Established all-time school and MAC record for annual licensed merchandise royalties - $299,000.
- Secured $1.2 million capital gift to Multi-Purpose Center (indoor practice facility) and $550,000 sponsorship revenue from Pepsi-Cola Bottlers Inc.
The North Carolina native came to Athens after spending seven years at Wake Forest University leading the marketing, promotions, and ticket sales. In his tenure, Hauser increased football season ticket sales by 104% from 1998-2004 and basketball season ticket sales 34% from 1998-2005.
From 1998-2005 Hauser implemented football marketing plans that generated more than $10 million dollars, the highest seven years of revenue in university history. His basketball marketing plans generated more than $18 million in revenue from 1998-2005, also a Wake Forest revenue record.
Prior to his appointment at Wake Forest, Hauser was the Assistant Director of Marketing at the University of New Mexico form 1996-1998.
Hauser earned a bachelor's degree in physical education in 1992 and a master's degree in sports management in 1996 from Appalachian State University.
Hauser resides in Athens with his wife Samantha and his two children Covington (6) and Whit (3).
