Staff Athletic Trainer

A resident of Athens, Ohio, since 2005, Annika (Ludewig) Bailey is a Staff Athletic Trainer for Ohio University Athletics. Bailey has been employed in her current role since November of 2006.

Currently, Bailey provides primary coverage for Men's Basketball and Women's Soccer at Ohio University. She also oversees Men's and Women's Golf and has, in the past, provided care for Baseball, Football, Women's Lacrosse and Women's Swimming and Diving.

Annika manages healthcare for Ohio University student-athletes and provides medical coverage for practices, games and travel. She is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, documentation and medical referral of injuries. Communication with the Team Physician and Team Orthopedist are essential parts of her job. She also supervises graduate and undergraduate students in the Ohio University Athletic Training Program (ATEP).

Before earning the title of Staff Athletic Trainer, Bailey was an Athletic Trainer (2006) and Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer (2005-06) at Ohio University. Prior to her time in Athens, she served as the Assistant Intern Athletic Trainer (2004-05) at New Mexico State University.

Annika graduated from California Lutheran University with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine in 2004. She earned her Masters of Science in Recreation and Sports Sciences from Ohio University in 2007.

Bailey also serves as a member of the Ohio University Eating Disorder Team, a group which helps to provide a multidisciplinary, comprehensive approach to eating problems.
