Ohio Coaching Education Program to Host Symposium Saturday

Matt Morton enters his sixth season as the Director of Equipment for Peden Stadium. He began working with Ohio Athletics in both the Convocation Center and Peden Stadium equipment rooms as a student in 2005.

Morton manages Ohio's equipment needs for each of Peden Stadium's athletic teams. Working primarily with football, Morton supervises a staff made up of interns, graduate, and student assistants who work with the field hockey, women's track and field and men's and women's cross country teams in addition to football.

Among Morton's responsibilities are the bidding and ordering of equipment, uniform design, management of inventory, maintenance, repair, fitting, and cleaning of all athletic equipment and apparel housed in Peden Stadium.

Morton is also responsible for the procurement of all football attire, footwear, protective equipment, on-field practice equipment and Peden Stadium locker room access control and game day locker room set up and operation.

He and his staff coordinate and oversee the transportation of game day equipment and supplies for all of the Bobcats' road contests traveling over 10,000 miles during the 2011 season alone. Prior to beginning his current post with Ohio Athletics, he worked for a brief time at with Adena Health System in his hometown of Chillicothe, Ohio.

Morton is an Ohio University graduate with a degree in Health Services Administration. Morton sits on the Russell Athletic Equipment Manager Advisory Board and is a member of the Athletic Equipment Manager's Association (AEMA) and resides in Athens.
