Assistant Director of Facilities and Operations

Travis Hornik joined the Ohio University athletic department as an assistant director of facilities and operations in July 2013. He is primarily responsible for facility operations at Peden Stadium, Pruitt Field, and Bob Wren Stadium.

Hornik comes to Athens from Macomb, Ill., where he was a graduate assistant for facilities and game day operations at Western Illinois University. While at WIU, Travis handled facility scheduling and maintenance for three athletic facilities on campus. He served as the first contact and liaison for visiting teams and officials and worked closely with the school's marketing, ticketing, and media services departments to execute proper game day protocol.

As a part of his time with Western Illinois Travis also co-coordinated the 2012 Summit League Men's Soccer Championship and assisted in the process of securing a home men's basketball post-season NIT game.

Prior to working in facilities at WIU, Travis spent time as an athletic academic services practicum assistant (2011-13) and a sports marketing and game operations volunteer (2011-12). He also spent the better part of 2009 as a strength and conditioning coaching intern at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.

Hornik earned his Bachelor of Science (Exercise Science and Health Promotion) degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in Dec. 2009 and later earned his Masters of Science (Sport Management) degree from Western Illinois in May 2013.

Travis is a member of the North American Society for Sport Management and spends some of his spare time volunteering with the United Way, the Special Olympics, and the YMCA.
