ATHENS, Ohio – Senior Izzi Boyd (Gibsonia, Pa.) has been named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts against Cleveland State and Navy. This is Boyd's first time earning this recognition. 

The senior has been a standout player for the Bobcats through the first three games of the season. She notched the Bobcats first goal of the year in the opener against Duquesne and backed it up with even stronger performances in week two. 

Against Cleveland State, Boyd scored the game-winning goal. She gathered the ball on top of the box, took a touch to the right, and fired the ball perfectly into the top left corner. In total, the senior had the goal, three shots, and one shot on target. Boyd's 79th minute winner propelled Ohio to a 2-0-0 start. 

On the road at Navy, Boyd was influential in creating offensive opportunities for the Bobcats. In the 11th minute, Boyd collected the ball, turned, and found Scout Murray (Chicago, Ill.) making a run down the right side. Boyd's pass led Murray through on goal where she wrapped a left-footed shot just inside the post. The pass was Boyd's first assist on the season and helped the Bobcats earn a draw on the road and remain undefeated through the first three games of the season. In addition to the assist, Boyd notched two shots, both of which were on target. 

Through the first three games of the season Boyd has proved to be a dangerous offensive threat accumulating two goals, one assist, and nine shots on target. 

The Bobcats (2-0-1) will follow up a strong week of play by heading to Huntington, West Virginia to take on Marshall (2-0-1). The game will kick off at 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 31. Following the Thursday match, Ohio will return home to face Northern Kentucky on Sunday, September 3rd at 1:00 pm.
