1. In 1907, Ohio University defeated the Parkersburg YMCA in the first game in Ohio University basketball history. The final score was 46-9.

 

2. Ohio University defeated Wittenberg University in 1921 to capture Ohio's first-ever Ohio Athletic Conference championship.

 

3. On March 22, 1941, Ohio University earned a runner-up finish in the prestigious National Invitation Tournament at Madison Square Garden in New York. Frank Baumholtz was named the MVP after setting a tournament scoring record.

 

4. In 1931, Ohio University defeated Denison University to clinch its first Buckeye Athletic Association title, under the direction of Coach Butch Grover.

 

5. During the 1938-39 season Frank Baumholtz and Jim Snyder led Ohio University to a defeat of the nationally-renowned University of Toledo squad that was led by Chuck Chuckovitis, a pioneer of the one-handed shot. The Green & White, under the direction of "Dutch" Trautwein, shocked the high-scoring Toledo club 77-45.

 

6. Ohio University basketball icon Jim Snyder earned his first coaching victory against Ohio Wesleyan on December 14, 1949.
