We are a program with strong tradition and heritage. We have so much of which to be proud. However, we are also an athletic program that has a vision of excellence, which will benefit our University and community and many ways.
To get a glimpse into our future strategic planning to meet these goals, we are proud to introduce: BOBCAT RENAISSANCE. This will be a program of tactical initiatives that will be a part of our future strategic plan.
Our vision is to be the premier program in the Mid-American Conference, having all sport programs compete for conference titles, while ensuring academic excellence and integrity in all that we do. Bobcat Renaissance is the first step on how we can achieve this vision. These key areas will include the following areas:
- STRATEGIC PLANNING - We will develop a five-year strategic plan to guide future steps.
- LONG-TERM FINANCIAL STABILITY - We will address financial challenges, with our focus on raising future Bobcat Club funding for student-athlete scholarships.
- BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS - Ohio Athletics will be more accessible, visible, and interactive with the on-campus and off-campus community. The department will introduce a new grass roots volunteer program, the Bobcat Representative Program, to build stronger ties and increase support throughout the state and region. Also, a customer service effort, the Bobcat Care program, will focus more attention to our fans' needs.
- SPORT PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT - Key facility projects will include a new indoor practice facility and a variety of other sport program efforts. Also, we will exhibit strategic scheduling to ensure success, plus adding a football and basketball series with Marshall.
- STUDENT-ATHLETE MISSION - We will build on superlative graduation rates and academic successes to an even higher level, while addressing the needs of our student-athletes.
- PROVIDE VALUE TO UNIVERSITY AND COMMUNITY - One of our goals is to articulate how a strong athletic program benefits the University and community. We want everyone to support the Bobcats, regardless where one is from or went to school.
- ADMINISTRATIVE RESTRUCTURING - We have also realigned our staff for future success.
I am excited about the future! There is no doubt that, together, with our many supporters, we can achieve the very best for our University and community. We look forward to having all of Bobcat Nation be a part of this historic growth in our program. It's a great time to be a Bobcat!
