BOBCAT REPRESENTATIVE PROGRAM
The Ohio University athletic department is embarking upon a new and exciting program that will change Bobcat Athletics and our relationships with our constituents forever. It is called the Bobcat Representative Program or "Rep Program" for short.
What is it? It is a statewide, volunteer-based effort that supplements the athletic development staff's efforts to build relationships. The state of Ohio will be divided up into 11 districts with the number of Bobcat Representatives in each district determined by the number of donors, alumni, etc. There will be an annual spring Bobcat Caravan event in each district, featuring head coaches and staff.
What are some goals of this program? 1) foster relationships between various university constituencies, 2) encourage fans to attend Bobcat athletic contests, 3) grow participation for district events, 4) increase membership in the Ohio Bobcat Club while raising scholarship support, 5) provide a fun and rewarding experience for volunteers by offering a unique insight into the athletic program.
There are many ways to give. One can offer their time, talents or treasure. Often, it is financial support that is thought of when a person gives. However, I believe the giving of one's time and talents impacts an organization like no other. In the process, it provides even more benefits to the individual because of how serving positively affects them.
Why do this? It is a perfect fit. It allows us to better service about 100,000 alums, athletic donors, ticket holders and former student-athletes throughout Ohio and the region. The grass-roots nature of the program aligns well with our desire to enhance relationships with all constituents. Revenue generated by the Rep Program also helps address the athletic department's annual operating budget challenges.
How can you participate? Bobcat Representative recruiting is in full swing and will continue through January. Primary activities will begin in the spring. If you enjoy supporting Bobcat Athletics and Ohio University, become a Bobcat Rep today and take part in a fun and rewarding volunteer opportunity! For details, call (740) 593-1176 or visit OhioBobcats.com.
True success always comes down to people. There are many exciting opportunities for the future growth of Bobcat Athletics and all that it provides for the community and university. There will always be challenges, but when many hands pitch in and work together, anything is possible.
