Senior Rachel Stearns won both the 100-yard individual medley and the 150-yard backstroke to help the Ohio University swimming team topple Xavier on Friday.

CINCINNATI -- The Ohio University swimming team (6-4, 2-2 MAC) dominated host Xavier on Friday (Feb. 7), capturing 10 of 11 events to roll to a 127-74 victory at the O'Conner Sports Complex.
The 200-yard medley relay team of sophomore Haley Clark (College Station, Texas), junior Tori Bagan (Roanoke, Ind.), sophomore Addison Ferguson (Westfield Center, Ohio) and junior Michelle Gasior (Louisville, Ky.) set the tone by posting a 1:48.84 to take first place.
Senior Laurin Williams (Shoreline, Wash.) won the 800-yard freestyle in 8:30.12. She also captured the top spot in the 400-yard freestyle by clocking a 4:08.19.
The Bobcats went 1-2 in the 150-yard freestyle, with Clark placing first in 1:24.22 and sophomore Casey Papp (Bloomington, Ind.) finishing right behind her in 1:25.38.
Ferguson posted two individual victories, winning the 50-yard freestyle in 24.98 and capturing the 100-yard freestyle in 53.63.
Senior Rachel Stearns (Minnetonka, Minn.) also came away victories in two individual events, placing first in the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 1:00.90 and claiming the top spot in the 150-yard backstroke in 1:31.06. Papp took second in the 150-yard backstroke by finishing in 1:33.52.
Bagan won the 150-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:46.92.
Ohio put an exclamation point on the win by taking the top spot in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as freshman Carrie Dukes (Monkton, Md.), freshman Josephine Barker (Richmond, N. Yorkshire), Clark and Gasior joined forces to finish in 1:39.26.
The Bobcats wrap up the regular season on Saturday (Feb. 8) when they travel to Oxford, Ohio, to battle Mid-American Conference rival Miami at 10 a.m. ET.
