BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Four Ohio University divers completed Day Two of the 2012 NCAA Zones Competition on Friday afternoon. The Bobcats competed against 54 other student-athletes from across the region on the three-meter boards at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center on the campus of Indiana University.

The Bobcats had significant success on the second day of the competition. Morgan Srail (Avon Lake, Ohio) did a tremendous job for the Green and White, advancing out of the preliminary round to the finals where she ultimately finished 18th with a two-round, twelve-dive score of 553.60. The freshman was in 17th at the end of the preliminary round.

Kristin Capcik (Milwaukee, Wisc.) had the second best finish for the Bobcats, placing 32nd in the preliminary round with a six-dive score of 251.80. The competition was very tight throughout this portion of the event, as Capcik was less than 0.5 points away from finishing within the top 30.

MaryRose Hillstrom (Dimondale, Mich.) and Haleigh Bartlett (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) wrapped up Ohio’s participation in the event, placing 44th and 50th, respectively, in the preliminary round. Hillstrom scored 234.30 on her six dives while Bartlett registered a mark of 219.30.

Friday concludes Ohio’s participation in the Zone Championships. No Bobcats will be competing in the platform diving competition on Saturday.
