Ohio's Haleigh Bartlett had a great showing at the one-meter NCAA Zone C Championships on Friday

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Ohio University Swimming and Diving Team was well represented at the NCAA Zone C Championships on the campus of Purdue University on Friday. Of the four Ohio divers competing, two Bobcats advanced to Friday’s final round from the one-meter board, narrowly missing the right to compete at the 2013 NCAA Championships next weekend.
Haleigh Bartlett (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) and MaryRose Hillstrom (Dimondale, Mich.) were Ohio’s most successful divers on Friday, as each qualified out of the preliminary round to compete in the evening’s finals session. Hillstrom scored 256.85 points in the preliminary round while teammate Bartlett achieved a score of 265.55 to advance into the evening session. These Bobcats placed 16th and 17th in the preliminary round, respectively.
Bartlett then scored 249.40 points in the final round, ending with a 12-dive score of 514.95 to finish 15th. Hillstrom achieved a score of 245.70 points in the final round to end with a 12-dive score of 511.55. She finished the competition in 16th place.
The top three finishers in the one-meter competition earned spots at the 2013 NCAA Championships next weekend.
Morgan Srail (Avon Lake, Ohio) and Kristin Capcik (Milwaukee, Wis.) also participated in the one-meter competition on Friday. Srail finished 27th in the preliminary round with a score of 244.70 while Capcik finished 32nd with a score of 240.00.
