INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Laurin Williams of the Ohio University Swimming and Diving Team finished competition at the 2013 NCAA Championships on Saturday afternoon. The junior placed 36th in the field of 41 swimmers in the 1650 freestyle, swimming a time of 16:29.08.
Williams’ time of 16:29.08 was the second-fastest mark she completed during the 2012-13 season. It ranks only behind the 16:14.60 she swam en route to winning the 1650 freestyle title at the Mid-American Conference Championships in early March.
The 1650 freestyle on Saturday was the second event in which Williams (Shoreline, Wash.) participated at this season’s NCAA Championships. On Thursday, she placed 51st in the preliminary round of the 500 freestyle, swimming a time of 4:48.58.
Williams also competed at the NCAA Championships at the end of the 2011-12 season. She finished 52nd in the 500 freestyle preliminary round (4:50.65) and 23rd in the 1650 freestyle (16:24.44).
