Day One Results
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Five Bobcats began the first day of competition at the 2012 Indianapolis Grand Prix on Thursday. Tori Bagan, Katey Brooks, Lauren Funk, Rachel Stearns and Laurin Williams lined up for the Bobcats at the competition featuring swimmers from across the country.
Highlighting Ohio's performance in the first day of the competition was a fourth-place finish in the 400 LC Freestyle Relay. The team of Brooks, Bagan, Stearns and Funk placed fourth in the field of 15. These four Bobcats swam a brisk time of 3:59.24.
Williams earned the next best result of the day for the Bobcats, placing 32nd in the 400 LC Freestyle preliminary round. The sophomore swam a time of 4:25.72.
Tori Bagan earned 64th place in the preliminary round of the 200 LC Breaststroke, finishing in 2:50.10.
Ohio had four swimmers participate in the 100 LC Freestyle. In the preliminary round, Brooks placed 83rd in 59.95, Stearns took 106th in 1:00.72, Funk earned 111th in 1:01.02 while Bagan placed 123rd, swimming a 1:01.37.
The Bobcats will begin the second day of competition at the Indy Grand Prix beginning Friday morning at 8:30 a.m.
