INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The second day of competition is in the books at the 2012 Indianapolis Grand Prix. Much like on Thursday, members of the Ohio Swimming and Diving team turned in impressive results.
None of the Bobcats made it out of Friday’s preliminary rounds, but Laurin Williams (Shoreline, Wash.) came quote close. The sophomore finished 29th in the 400 LC Individual Medley, finishing in a time of 5:06.23.
Rachel Stearns (Minnetonka, Minn.) was Ohio’s next competitor, participating in the 200 LC Backstroke. Stearns placed 38th in the preliminary round, swimming a time of 2:21.83.
Three Bobcats competed in the 50 LC Freestyle on Friday. In the preliminary round Lauren Funk (Springfield, Ohio) placed 41st, Tori Bagan (Roanoke, Ind.) tied for 42nd and Katie Brooks (North Royalton, Ohio) finished 73rd. These Ohio student-athletes swam times of 27.10, 27.13 and 27.57, respectively.
The Bobcats will begin the third day of competition at the Indy Grand Prix on Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
