INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Ohio Swimming and Diving finished its competition at the 2012 Indianapolis Grand Prix on Saturday. Five Bobcat swimmers turned in solid marks at the event featuring athletes from across the nation.
The first event of the day featuring a Bobcat was the 100 LC Breaststroke. In the preliminary round, Tori Bagan (Roanoke, Ind.) placed 40th, Katey Brooks (North Royalton, Ohio) finished 69th and Lauren Funk (Springfield, Ohio) earned 86th. These Ohio student-athletes finished in times of 1:15.08, 1:18.11 and 1:20.32, respectively.
Rachel Stearns (Minnetonka, Minn.) then competed in the 100 LC Backstroke, placing 48th in the preliminary round with a time of 1:06.60. She followed this up with a 59th-place finish in the preliminary round of the 200 LC Individual Medley, swimming 2:26.95.
Laurin Williams (Shoreline, Wash.) competed well in the 800 LC Freestyle, placing second in the third heat with a time of 9:11.07.
