ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio swimming and diving squads hosted its annual Green & White Scrimmage here tonight at the Aquatic Center.

Ashley Marion (London, Ontario) had a solid Bobcat debut, winning all three events she swam. She won the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.45, the 100 butterfly in 58.10 and the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.13

Ilse Petersen (Johannesburg, South Africa) won both the 200 and 400 freestyle events. She finished the 200 in a time of 1:54.55 and the 400 in 4:02.29. Lindsey DeStefano (Wildwood, Mo.) won the 50 freestyle, Simone Swanepoel (Waterkloof, South Africa) won the 100 freestyle and Sarah Vaughn (Athens, Ohio) won the 100 breaststroke in other individual events.

Jessica Orlov (Bexley, Ohio) won both the 1- and 3-meter diving events. Orlov won with scores of 192.60 in the one-meter and 220.28 in the three-meter.

The men's squad saw numerous freshmen make a good first impression, with freshmen swimmers winning five events. Charlie Sparks (Cincinnati, Ohio) won the 200 and 400 freestyle events with times of 1:47.61 and 3:49.25, respectively. Stephen D'Arrigo (Tucson, Ariz.) won the 100 backstroke, Thomas Ferrigno (West Chester, Pa.) won the 200 IM and Jason Reutter (Crown Point, Ind.) won the 100 breaststroke.

Donald Jupp (Stow, Ohio) followed up his All-MAC Second Team selection a year ago by taking the 50 and 100 freestyle events. Jupp won the 50 with a time of 21.64 and the 100 in 48.01. Tyler Post (Coldwater, Ohio) won the 100 butterfly with a time of 53.21 and climbed the diving board to take the 3-meter dive with a score of 201.30. Matthew Bey (Gahanna, Ohio) won the 1-meter dive with a score of 160.13.

The Bobcats will kick off the regular season when they host Eastern Michigan Friday, Oct. 28. Both the men and women will be in action with a start time of 5 p.m.
