BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Ohio women's swimming and diving team made it two straight wins with a 153-144 defeat of Mid-American Conference for Bowling Green.
Ilse Petersen (Johannesburg, South Africa), Emily Wylam (Yorktown. Va.) and Ashley Marion (London, Ontario) each won two events for the Bobcats. Petersen won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:53.58 and the 500 freestyle in 5:06.29. Wylam continued her dominance of the backstroke, winning the 100 in 58.41 and the 200 in a personal-best 2:05.16. Marion concluded a strong weekend with wins in the 100-yard freestyle and the 400-yard individual medley. She won the 100 free in 52.96 and the 400 IM in 4:31.25.
Michaela Hahn-Lawson (Painesville, Ohio) and Karen Liddy (Piqua, Ohio) also added first place finishes for the Bobcats. Hahn-Lawson won the 100-yard breaststroke in her first attempt at it this season with a time of 1:08.00, which is tops for a Bobcat this year. Liddy won her first collegiate event when she took the 200-yard breaststroke with a personal-best time of 2:27.38.
Jessica Orlov (Bexley, Ohio) took second in the 1-meter dive and fourth in the 3-meter. She scored a 227.85 in the 1-meter dive and a 184.27 in the 3-meter.
Hahn-Lawson, Sarah Vaughn (Athens, Ohio), Lindsey DeStefano (Wildwood, Mo.) and Sigal Simsolo (Kibbutz Yakum, Israel) all added second place finishes.
The team of DeStefano, Hahn-Lawson, Simsolo and Petersen combined to take first in the 800-yard freestyle relay. The foursome finished in a time of 7:44.63.
The women will be back in action when they compete against Akron and Youngstown State Friday in Akron. The triangular is set to begin at 5 p.m.
