Results

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Ohio swimming and diving team defeated Bowling Green 130-113 Friday evening at Cooper Pool to improve to 5-0 on the season and 3-0 in Mid-American Conference action.

Ohio won just three of the first 10 events, but placed first in the final three events of the meet to escape with the victory.

In the final three events, senior diver Jamie Acks (Solon, Ohio) took the top mark in the three-meter dive (235.50) followed by Michaela Hahn-Lawson's (Painesville, Ohio) first-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:25.49). Ohio's relay team of Ashley Marion (London, Ontario), Lindsey DeStefano (Wildwood, Mo.), Amanda Cecere (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Ilse Petersen (Johannesburg, South Africa) then capped off the meet with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:23.89).

For the second straight meet freshman Stacey Huber (Gainesville, Fla.) recorded two individual victories for the Bobcats, touching the wall first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.02) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:09.18).

Ohio freshman Rachel Heim (San Diego, Calif.) also recorded a first-place finish for Ohio, touching the wall first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.72. Petersen placed second in the 100-yard freestyle (52.83), touching the wall a little over a tenth of a second after Heim.

Sophomore diver Lindsay Hamilton (Saskatchewan, Canada) placed second in the one-meter dive for Ohio with a mark of 226.73.

Alisha Yee placed first in two events each to lead Bowling Green.

Ohio remains on the road for its next dual meet tomorrow, when it takes on Toledo at 1 p.m.
