Day 3 Results
CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. -- The Ohio University swimming & diving team (3-1, 2-0 MAC) finished fourth of seven squads at the 2013 H2Okie Invitational. The final day of the three-day meet was held Saturday at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.
The Bobcats received a number of season-best performances on the final day of action.
Senior Laurin Williams (Shoreline, Wash.) won the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:36.24.
Sophomore Haley Clark (College Station, Texas) clocked a season-best 51.40 in the 100-yard freestyle to finish seventh.
Senior Rachel Stearns (Minnetonka, Minn.) timed in at 2:01.93 - a season-best time - to place 11th in the 200-yard backstroke.
Junior Michelle Gasior (Louisville, Ky.) posted a season-best 2:04.67 in the 200-yard butterfly to take 12th.
Freshman Hannah Shinn (Waterloo, Ill.) took 13th in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:24.60. She clocked a 2:23.65 in the prelim - a season best.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Clark, freshman Josephine Barker (Richmond, N. Yorkshire), sophomore Casey Papp (Bloomington, Ind.) and Gasior combined to clock a season-best 3:28.50 and finish seventh.
The Bobcats will return to competition in 2014, traveling to Denison for a dual meet on Jan. 11. The meet is scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m.
