FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- The Ohio University swimming & diving team is spending part of its winter break in beautiful Fort Lauderdale, Fla., taking part in a 12-day training trip.
The Bobcats are training twice a day as they prepare for the spring stretch of their 2013-14 schedule and enjoying the sun and the beach while they are at it.
"I could not be more excited to be spending 12 days in sunny Fort Lauderdale with the team," said interim head coach Derick Roe. "We are really looking forward to some great training and wonderful weather."
Several members of the team will be blogging about their experiences in Fort Lauderdale. Here's what junior Tori Bagan (Roanoke, Ind.) had to say about the squad's first day in Florida:
"Day one went extremely well with two hard water practices and a fun day at the beach! Our first weight room session also took place, and everyone is kicking butt. Looking forward to another great couple of sun-filled days!" - Tori
The Bobcats (3-1, 2-0 MAC) will return to competition on Jan. 11, traveling to Denison for a dual meet. The meet is scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m.
