Ohio to Face Marshall at Aquatic Center
Jan. 21, 2008
ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio swimming and diving team will be looking to remain undefeated against non-conference teams when it plays host to Marshall on Tuesday in a dual meet at the Aquatic Center. The Bobcats enter the meet on a tear, having won three straight meets and with an 8-1 overall record on the season. Ohio is 4-0 this year against schools outside of the Mid-American Conference. Tuesday at the Aquatic Center Last week Ohio defeated two-time defending MAC champion Eastern Michigan, 161-139, led by the performances of freshman Amanda Cecere (Chelmsford, Mass.) and senior co-captain Emily Wylam (Yorktown, Va.). Cecere posted three wins on the day, setting a MAC season-best time in the 200-yard butterfly (2:03.09), touching the wall first in the 100-yard butterfly (58.02) and teaming with Wylam, Allison Schaefer (Medina, Ohio) and Chelsey Bower (Bethel Park, Pa.) to take first in the 400-yard medley relay (3:52.74). Wylam finished first in the 100-yard backstroke (58.11) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:10.02), as the Bobcats defeated Eastern Michigan for the first time since the 2004-05 season. The victory improved Ohio to 4-1 in the conference. Scouting Marshall Last Time Out Ohio vs. Marshall ---------------------------- |
