2012-13 Times and Scores
ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio Swimming and Diving gets back in action on Tuesday evening, traveling east for a dual meet against Marshall. The Bobcats and Thundering Herd will begin competition at 5 p.m. at the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium in Huntington, W.Va.
Ohio has won 11 straight dual meets over the Thundering Herd, most recently earning a 154-78 victory during last season’s meeting in Athens on Jan. 17. This was a big win for the Bobcats at the time, marking their 13th victory in 14 dual meets.
Marshall enters Tuesday’s competition the owner of a 5-4 record. The Thundering Herd is coming off back-to-back quad meets in Indianapolis, earning three wins and three losses in the process. In tournament competition this season, Marshall placed second at the West Virginia Games in October and placed seventh at the Miami (Ohio) Invitational in November.
The Bobcats are 1-2 in dual meet competition this season, picking up their first win of the season at Denison on Jan. 12. Ohio dominated this meet, with Bobcat student-athletes recording the top time or score in all 16 of the day’s events. Haleigh Bartlett (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) had an especially strong day, scoring personal bests from both the one and three-meter diving boards. Each of her scores were good enough to qualify her for the NCAA Zones competition in March and both ranked as the third-highest scores ever achieved by a Bobcat diver from each diving height.
Following Tuesday’s dual meet at Marshall, the Bobcats will compete at West Virginia (Jan. 26) before hosting five dual meets in a row from Feb. 1 through Feb. 9.
