ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio University swimming and diving team (4-2, 2-1 MAC) wraps up the home portion of its 2013-14 schedule with a pair of meets at the Aquatic Center this weekend.
The Bobcats host Mid-American Conference foe Bowling Green State University on Friday (Jan. 31) at 5 p.m ET. Ohio concludes its home schedule on Saturday (Feb. 1) by playing host to Iowa State University and West Virginia University at 1 p.m ET.

LAST TIME OUT
Ohio suffered its first MAC loss of the 2013-14 season, dropping a 156-144 decision to the University of Akron last Saturday (Jan. 25) at the SPIRE Institute.
The Bobcats lost despite taking the top spot in eight events and the top two spots in three events.
Senior Laurin Williams (Shoreline, Wash.) won the 1000-yard freestyle in 10:27.54, then posted a victory in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:02.06.
Senior Rachel Stearns (Minnetonka, Minn.) claimed the top spot in the 200-yard freestyle by clocking a 1:54.90. Freshman Josephine Barker (Richmond, N. Yorkshire) took second with a time of 1:57.04.
Sophomore Addison Ferguson (Westfield Center, Ohio) finished in 55.28 to take first place in the 100-yard backstroke. She also claimed second place in the 200-yard backstroke with a season-best time of 2:02.90.
Junior Michelle Gasior (Louisville, Ky.) won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:09.29 and placed second in the 500-yard freestyle behind Williams with a 5:11.11. Sophomore Haley Clark (College Station, Texas) captured the top spot in the 100-yard freestyle by finishing in 52.56.
Freshman Carrie Dukes (Monkton, Md.) locked down the top spot in the 100-yard butterfly courtesy of a time of 57.12.
The Bobcats captured the top two spots in the three-meter dive, with junior Morgan Srail (Avon Lake, Ohio) recording a score of 304.05 to finish first and senior Kristin Capcik (Milwaukee, Wis.) tallying a 283.35 to place second. Both scores achieved NCAA Zone Championships qualification.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Bowling Green is coming off a 151-143 win against Toledo, last Friday (Jan. 24). The Falcons had five different swimmers take the top spot, with freshman Victoria Griffin and sophomore Daniela Carrillo winning a pair each. Griffin remained undefeated in dual meets in both the 100- and 200-yard freestyle, improving to 6-0 and 5-0 respectively. Carrillo picked up victories in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke, winning those events in a dual meet for the first time this year.
Iowa State beat Northern Iowa last Saturday (Jan. 25) by a score of 191-103. Iowa State sophomore Maria Gannon notched her first collegiate victory in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:46.65.
West Virginia lost to TCU, 164-121 on Jan. 18. In the 1000-yard freestyle, freshman Emma Skelley placed third with a time of 10:20.99. In the 200-yard freestyle, freshman Mackenzie Braden and sophomore Kelsey Frantz placed fourth (1:55.41) and fifth (1:56.71), respectively.
After this weekend's events Ohio will head to Cincinnati, Ohio, to take on Xavier University next Friday (Feb. 7) in a dual meet that will take place at 5 p.m. ET. The Bobcats conclude the 2013-14 regular season the following day (Feb. 8) when they travel to Oxford, Ohio, to battle MAC rival Miami University at 10 a.m. ET.
