MALE SCHOLAR ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Name: Matt Mikolajczak
Sport: Baseball
Position: Left-Handed Pitcher
Year: Senior
GPA: 3.583
Major: Chemical Engineering
Week's Achievements: Senior left-handed pitcher Matt Mikolajczak (New Lenox, Ill.) tossed a scoreless 13th inning to nail down his first career save on Sunday (Feb. 26) as the Ohio baseball team (5-3) edged SIU Edwardsville, 2-1, in extra innings in the series finale of a four-game weekend set in Emerson, Ga. Mikolajczak combined with three other Bobcat pitchers to hold the Cougars to just one earned run on eight hits and two walks over 13 frames.

FEMALE SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Name: Corrin Van Lanen
Sport: Swimming & Diving
Position: Butterfly, Freestyle
Year: Sophomore
GPA: 3.970
Major: Psychology
Week's Achievements: Sophomore Corrin Van Lanen (Green Bay, Wis.) helped the Ohio swimming & diving team to a fifth-place finish at the 2016-17 Mid-American Conference Swimming and Diving Championships last week in Oxford, Ohio, where the sophomore swam in six total events, broke four school records and earned First Team All-MAC honors. Van Lanen kicked of the first day as the third leg in the 200-yard medley relay where Ohio finished in sixth with a 1:40.69 time and as the second leg of the 800-yard freestyle relay where Ohio came in fourth with a time of 7:19.36. The second day, the sophomore posted the second-best performance in program history in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.55 seconds to place second overall. The next day, Van Lanen swam in the 100-yard butterfly and finished second overall with a time of 53.13 seconds, the new second-best all-time performance. The final day of the MAC Championships, Van Lanen placed fourth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.58 -- also the second-best time in program history. She ended the meet as the anchor in the 400-yard freestyle relay where the team posted the program's third-best performance with a time of 3:23.09 to place fifth.
