CLEVELAND – Bobcat senior Shannon Kelly has been selected as the Mid-American Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week, announced the MAC office today.
Kelly wins the award for the second week in a row after leading Ohio to two more victories over conference foes.
Kelly won six of seven events she participated in over the weekend.
Last Friday against Akron, Kelly won all three of her individual events and took the first split in the first place 200 medley relay team. Kelly won the 100 backstroke with a league-leading 57.27 time. She placed first in the 100 freestyle with a swim of 52.83 and the 200 individual medley with a 2:07.08 time.
The next day against Buffalo, Kelly placed first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 52.97 and helped lead the 400 medley relay team to a victory with an opening backstroke split of 58.61.
