ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio University swimming and diving team (2-1, 2-0 MAC) heads to Christiansburg, Va., for the H2Okie Invitational, hosted by the Virginia Tech. The invitational will run Thursday through Saturday.

This is Ohio's only non-duel meet during the regular season.

Ohio suffered its first loss of the 2013-14 season, 193.5-106.5, against Ohio State on Nov. 9 at the Bill and Mae McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.

Despite the loss, The Bobcats earned five event victories over the No. 19 Buckeyes, and a number of season-best times.

Sophomore Casey Papp (Bloomington, Ind.) captured the 100-yard butterfly with a season-best time of 57.54. She also won the 50-yard butterfly in 25.56.

Junior Tori Bagan (Roanoke, Ind.) took first place in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 29.67.

Senior Kristin Capcik (Milwaukee, Wis.) achieved her third NCAA Zone qualifying score of the season in the one-meter dive, achieving a 286.20 to win the event.

Sophomore Addison Ferguson (Westfield Center, Ohio) tied for first in the 100-yard backstroke with a season-best time of 56.38.

Sophomore Bianca Hauzer (Germiston, South Africa) recorded a season-best time of 5:01.76 to take third in the 500-yard freestyle.

The Bobcats will splash in the New Year on Jan. 11, competing in a duel meet against Denison in Granville, Ohio.
