Junior Donyelle Brown shattered the school record she previously held in the weight throw.
2012: INDOOR: Competed in the weight throw and shot put for Ohio. She opened her career at Ohio with a second place finish in the shot put at The Ohio State Invitational, recording a throw of 42-5.75 feet. Went on to throw a personal record in the weight throw of 53-1.75 feet at The Ohio State Tune-Up, placing 6th. At the Mid-American Conference Championship, Brown earned 11th place in the weight throw with a distance of 52-6.25 feet, following that performance up with a 40-11.75 feet throw in the shot put, good for 15th place. OUTDOOR: Competed in the shot put, hammer throw and discus for Ohio. She went 42-3.25 feet in the shot put at HPU VertKlasse Meeting, placing first. Placed first in the hammer throw at the Ohio Women's Challenge with a throw of 158-2 feet. Went on to record a fifth place finish in the shot put at the Hillsdale Gina Relays with a throw of 42-10.25 feet. Highlighted her season at the Mid-American Conference Championship, where she threw the hammer for a personal record distance of 163-11.75 feet, earning ninth place for Ohio. She also placed 10th and 13th in the shot put and discus, respectively, at the championship event.
