OXFORD, Ohio - Bolstered by race victories from senior Danielle Winningham and junior Melissa Thompson, the Ohio University women's track & field team finished fourth out of eight teams at the RedHawk Invitational Saturday at George Rider Track.

The Bobcats grabbed 109 total points at the event, just one behind third-place finisher and BIG EAST foe Cincinnati. Host Miami won the meet with 216.5 points, while Dayton (134) finished second.

"Some solid performances came from today's meet," head coach Clay Calkins said. "We had a number of student-athletes earn auto MAC bids with some of the best marks in the conference this season."

Winningham led the way for the Bobcats in the 800m, where the senior placed first in a personal-best time of 2:10.84. The mark was the seventh-fastest in the Mid-American Conference this season and qualified Winningham for the 800m run in next month's MAC Outdoor Championships.
