ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio track and field team wrapped up the Green and White Invite on Saturday at Goldsberry Track and took first place with 322.5 team points.

Marshall placed second with 141.5 points with Berea in third, Washington and Jefferson in fourth and Marrieta in fifth.

Carime Reinhart (Bascom, Ohio) took first in both the 1,500 meters and 800 meters, setting season Bobcat-bests in both events in the process. She competed in the 800 for the first time this season and crossed the finish line in 2:21.94. The senior knocked one second off her and the team's season-best in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:43.35.

Jessie Tanner (Newark, Ohio) took first place in the javelin with a throw of 137 feet, eight inches. That toss was more than 10 inches better than the Bobcats previous season-best. Also placing in the javelin for the Bobcats were Melissa Gressick (Lancaster, Ohio) in second place, Susan Plungis (Great Barrington, Mass.) in third place and Chelsea Sutcliffe (Lakewood, Ohio) in fifth place. Tanner also placed second in the discus with a throw of 153 feet, her best of the season.

Lauren Johnson (Dayton, Ohio) took first place in the 400 meters with a time of 1:02.26 and Christen Bosch (Rockbridge, Ohio) earned another first-place finish for the Bobcats in the pole vault when she cleared the bar at 11 feet, two inches on her second attempt. Bahiyjaui Allen (Sylvania, Ohio), off her record-setting 50-foot toss in the shot put last weekend, took first place this weekend with a throw of 49 feet, seven inches.

The Ohio 4x100 meter relay team took the final first place for the Bobcats on Saturday, with Brittany Vinson (Amelia, Ohio), Shareyna Spears (Toledo, Ohio), Chanelle Harmon (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Melissa Wiley (Columbus, Ohio) combining to record a 48.84 time.

The Bobcats also earned a host of second place finishes in the Green and White Invite.

Wiley took the silver in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.78. In the 400 meter hurdles, Jessica Kestler (Maineville, Ohio) placed second with a time of 1:06.10 and Sharon Gase (Plymouth, Ohio) finished just behind her teammate with a time of 1:06.77 to take third place.

In the high jump, Cathy Udeani (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) placed second with a leap of five feet, three inches. Ashlee Reynolds (Belpre, Ohio) cleared the bar just two inches under Udeani to take third with a jump of five feet, one inch.

A new Goldsberry Track record was set in the women's discus. Former Michigan student-athlete Melissa Bickett recorded a throw of 186 feet, seven inches, which broke the previous facility record by more than 14 inches. The throw also qualified her for the U.S. Olympic Trials.

The Bobcats will be back at Goldsberry Track next Saturday with the Ohio Open scheduled to begin at noon.
