Final Stats Jesse Owens Classic
ATHENS - Ohio completed its third and final home meet of the season on Friday as a warm-up for next week's Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
The Bobcats hosted athletes from seven schools including Capital, Charleston, Muskingum, Otterbein, Rio Grande, Shawnee State, and Walsh. The Ohio Open was a non-scored event as a result of all the schools not having a full compliment of athletes competing.
Jaclyn Lugaila (Waterford, Pa.) won her sixth consecutive shot put event at 47-01.50. Assistant Coach Adekunle Lawson competed unattached in the shot put, discus throw and hammer throw, winning all three events at 46-06.25, 149-00 and 148-05, respectively.
On Saturday, Jason Linton (Vincent), Jessica Kestler (Maineville) and Jeremy Keesee (Marysville) will be competing at the Jesse Owens Track & Field Classic on Ohio State's campus. Linton will participate in the mile run. Kestler is scheduled to run in the 400m hurdles, while Keesee will try to qualify for the regionals in the high jump.
Next on slate for the Bobcats is the May 11-13 MAC Championships in Toledo. All information on the meet can be located here.
