MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Sophomore Emily Pifer's performance in the 10k was the highlight today for Ohio Track and Field at the 2012 MAC Outdoor Championships. Pifer finished fourth to earn points for the Bobcats, who sit ninth after three events.
Pifer placed 4th in the 10k, picking up five points with a time of 36:11.32 in the event. Freshman Morgan Reichert missed out on a top-10 finish by 11 seconds.
Donyelle Brown finished in the top 10 of the hammer toss with a PR toss of 49.98 meters. Junior Kristen Mason also achieved a PR for the Bobcats with a throw of 46.77 meters to finish 14th.
In the javelin, Hope McCarty earned Ohio another top-10 finish with a throw of 34.36 meters. Alexa Macri and Olivia Vitou each finished within six-tenths of a meter from a top-10 finish for the Green and White.
Tomorrow’s action starts at 11 a.m. with the field events, decathlon/heptathlon events, sprint/mid-distance prelims and 3,000m steeplechase finals scheduled.
