ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio Track and Field sophomore Emily Pifer had the sixth-best time of any sophomore in the 10,000 meter event at tonight's NCAA Regionals in Jacksonville, Florida. She finished 39th overall with a time of 37:21.61.
Pifer (Canal Winchester, Ohio) qualified for the 10,000m after finishing fourth at the MAC Championships. She recorded Ohio's top time of the season (34:55.53). Pifer also finished eighth in the 5,000m at the MAC Championships and had Ohio's top time of the season in that event (17:08.63). The sophomore distance runner also had Ohio's second-best time in the 1500m event this season at 4:44.81 in the Ohio Open.
Pifer finished the outdoor season with seven top-10 finishes among the nine events she participated in, including five top-five finishes. She closed the spring with PR's in the 1500m, 5000m and 10000m events this season.
