Accurso, Brown Wrap Up Day One At NCAA Regionals

Brown placed 38th in the hammer throw during her first career NCAA Regional appearance.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Ohio University women’s track & field student-athletes Juli Accurso and Donyelle Brown represented the Bobcats on day one of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East Regional Thursday at the University of North Florida.

Accurso (Casstown, Ohio) placed 32nd in the 10000m run in a time of 35:56.11. Michigan’s Erin Finn won the race in a time of 33:13.46. Accurso, a senior, will now take Friday off before competing in the 5000m run Saturday evening at 8:40 p.m.

Brown (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) – a redshirt sophomore - made her NCAA debut Thursday evening in Jacksonville and earned a solid 38th-place finish in the hammer throw. Her mark of 53.59m was the 13th-best in her flight. Princeton’s Julia Ratcliffe captured the event title with a throw of 67.51m.
