Accurso Completes Ohio Career At NCAA Regional

Accurso holds a series of cross country, indoor and outdoor records for the Bobcats.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Ohio University track & field senior Juli Accurso put the finishing touches on an All-America career for the Bobcats Saturday during NCAA East Regional action at the University of North Florida.

The Casstown, Ohio, native competed in her final race for the Green & White and placed 41st in the 5000m run. Accurso crossed the finish line in a time of 17:07.98.

A three-time cross country All-American and 2012 USTFCCCA Indoor All-America selection, Accurso holds the Ohio school record on the cross country course (20:00), as well as in the outdoor 1500m (4:26.66), 5000m (15:59.12) and 10000m runs (33:52.33). In indoor action, she also is Ohio's record holder in the 3000m (9:21.89) and 5000m runs (15:58.69) She is part of the Bobcat quartet that holds the distance medley relay record (11:26.80).

Accurso is the only three-time MAC cross country champion in league history and has won the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on two occasions. A seven-time All-MAC selection, Accurso is a two-time Capital One Academic All-District pick and received Academic All-America third team honors in 2013. She has a chance to be named Academic All-America for a second time later this month.
