ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University women's track & field team gets a final chance to qualify student-athletes for next weekend’s MAC Indoor Championships when the Bobcats head to Columbus to compete in the Buckeye Tune-Up.
Throwing events are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. ET, with competition on the track set for 5 p.m. Admission is free for all fans.

Ohio is one of 25 schools and running clubs competing in the event. Other teams include fellow MAC squad Miami, as well as in-state teams Cincinnati, Wright State and host Ohio State.
The Bobcats will send a trio of student-athletes to Columbus to compete in the 3,000m run. The Ohio field includes sophomores Kayla Scott (Canal Winchester, Ohio), Caroline Hildebrand (Hilliard, Ohio) and Allison Roeth (Houston, Ohio). Scott already has qualified for MACs in the 5,000m and will look to also earn a berth in the 3,000m.
In other distance action, sophomores Sarah Kaufman (Zanesville, Ohio), Peyton Adkins (Gallipolis, Ohio) and Hayley Stegemiller (Lebanon, Ohio) will race for the Bobcats in the 1,000m run.
Heading to field events, junior Donyelle Brown (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) will lead the ‘Cats in the weight throw. Brown has already qualified for the MAC Indoors after setting a new school record in the event (17.83m) at the Tom Wright Classic on Jan. 24. She will be joined in Columbus by junior Janiece Rose (Franklinville, N.J.) and freshman Emma Ryan (Vincent, Ohio).
Ohio also will enlist a quartet of student-athletes in the 60m hurdles. Junior Chanda Cuckler (Athens, Ohio) leads the pack, along with Stegemiller, sophomore Kristin Winkel (Avon Lake, Ohio) and Mackenzie Rankin.
After this weekend’s events, the Bobcats head to Kent, Ohio, to compete in the MAC Indoor Championships Feb. 28-March 3.
