Ohio Men Place Ninth at MAC Championships

Mount Pleasant, Mich. - The Ohio men's indoor track team finished ninth this weekend at the MAC Championships in Mount Pleasant, Mich.

Sophomore James Taylor (Ironton) concluded a strong indoor campaign with a first place finish in the high jump (6-9 3/4).

The Bobcats registered 21 points, with five individuals scoring. Sophomore Eli Keiner (Somerset) placed sixth in the shot put with a throw of 54-3 . Other Bobcat top finishes include Steve Schaub (7th, 8.31) in the 60m high hurdles, Scott Trahey (6th, 4416) in the heptathlon and Randy Newman (7th, 4266) in the heptathlon. The Ohio 4x400 relay team finished eighth in a time of 3:21.57.

Eastern Michigan dominated the overall meet capturing first with 168.50 points. Central Michigan finished second with 87 points.

The Bobcats open up the outdoor season at home on March 7 against Marshall and Cincinnati.
