Ohio Women Finish Tenth at MAC Championships

Mount Pleasant, Mich. - The Ohio women's indoor track team placed tenth this weekend at the MAC Championships in Mount Pleasant, Mich.


Sophomore Melody Royster (Heath) led the way capturing fifth place in the 60m hurdles in a school-record time of 8.70. She eclipsed the old record of 8.75 that she set earlier this year.


Senior Jackie Waller (New Port Richey, Fla.) concluded her indoor career with a sixth place finish in the 5000m (17:40.96). Other Bobcat top finishes include Martine Ward (6th, 3261) in the pentathlon, Foli James (7th, 3250) in the pentathlon and Michelle Borsz (8th, 5-6) in the high jump. The Ohio 4x400 relay team of Kerra Brown, Jen Martin, C'Rai Weeden and Jana Dearth finished fifth with a season-best time of 3:52.70.


Ball State captured the MAC title with 145 points. Kent State (120) finished ahead of Eastern Michigan (91) for second place.


The Bobcats open up the outdoor season at home on March 7 against Marshall and Cincinnati.
