CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ohio’s track and field team landed an impressive twenty student-athletes on the 2017 Women’s Indoor Track & Field Academic All-MAC Team, the league announced this morning (March 20).
Kent State lead the conference with 22 student-athletes receiving honors, while Ohio followed closely behind with 20 ahead of Buffalo and Miami who each placed 18 on the team.
Of the 166 total student-athletes named to the team, 13 of them recorded a perfect 4.0 grade point average, including Ohio junior Christina Seas (West Union, Ohio) and sophomores Alyssa Atkinson (Granville, Ohio) and Abby Lawrence (Athens, Ohio).
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
